Epcot Food & Wine is coming to an end and unfortunately, the weather is just starting to feel perfect for some of our favorite drinks and dishes (The Tofu Pho was our fav!).
The tea drink that caught our eye this year was the Spiced Apple Chai Tea served at the Earth Eats booth. This tea was also available in an adult version with whiskey. The recipe includes Twining Chai, spiced apple cider mix, and simple syrup.
Overall, the taste was like an autumn apple in a cup. It was pretty sweet, but not as sweet as just apple cider would have been. The tea taste was overpowered by the apple, but the chai spices did come through nicely.
The one with whisky was made quite strong, but the warming oaky flavors with the spice complemented each other well.
Now if only this was going to stay through Christmas!
⬇️⬇️ Funny detail we noticed in the instructions for the recipe… they must have enough people steeping the packaging to include this 🤣
“Open tea envelopes and remove tea bags from packets”
In all honesty though, we appreciate over instruction vs under! And if you ever have ANY tea question, this is a safe space to ask it 😊
If you want to try this drink at home with one of our teas, we would recommend our Monorail Morning spiced black tea.
And of course, there were two dishes this year that really didn’t work in the Florida heat. Unfortunately, now that the weather is perfect, these food items are going away! These include the Tofu Pho and The Impossible Three-Bean Chili.
We did of course enjoy plenty of other offerings throughout the rest of the festival. Scroll through to see all of the plant based options we enjoyed this year. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Tofu Pho with enoki mushrooms and thai basil
Impossible Three-Bean Chili with vegan sour cream
Impossible Slider with wasabi cream and spicy slaw
We forgot to when we took this photo, but make sure to order extra wasabi cream sauce! You won’t regret it!
Banana Bread with berry compote and coconut whipped cream
Nicolette’s personal favorite
Falafel Pita and tahini sauce
Spicy Githeri with ancient grains
Mac n Cheese with Italian ‘sausage’ and peppers
Buffalo Brussel Sprouts and ‘blue cheese’
Madras Red Curry with rice
Our two favorites? The Pho and the Banana Bread
Frozen Apple Pie
