Baker Street Breakfast
Price range: $9.00 through $32.00
A clever concoction of Indian teas and a twist of mystery
Tasting Notes: malt | brisk black tea | rainy cobblestone streets
Description
The sound of a violin and the smell of cheese crumpets hang in the air—you must be at the home of Basil on Baker Street. Mystery is always afoot here, with clues to uncover and a criminal mastermind scheming around every corner. Solving a case like this requires a sharp mind and, naturally, a good strong cuppa. Even the greatest detective can use a pot of properly brewed tea to get those gears turning.
A true detective like Basil has little time for fruity flavors or dessert teas. This calls for classic black tea, carefully blended for a bold, brisk cup. We went heavy on the Assam for its rich, malty character, then added high-elevation Darjeeling to bring an air of sophistication and complexity worthy of Baker Street. The result is strong and smooth, with notes of malt, brisk black tea, and rainy cobblestone streets. It takes milk and sugar beautifully but is refined enough to enjoy entirely on its own.
This tea is part of our Breakfast Tea Collection, bringing a little magic to the world of traditional breakfast teas. Think along the lines of familiar English and Irish Breakfast blends, but with each tea taking on a character all its own. These teas are crafted without added flavoring, allowing the natural character and complexities of the tea leaves to take center stage, sometimes accented with subtle ingredients like spices, blossoms, or citrus peel.
